ASEDE (Association for Education and Development) is a Non-Governmental Association (NGO), a non-profit organisation of civil nature, far removed from all kinds of interests and political or religious affiliation. It is a legal entity, recognized by the State of Guatemala, according to the Government Agreement 644-90, of June 13, 1990. ASEDE is represented in Guatemala by its 3 Regional Offices: HUEHUETENANGO, ALTA VERAPAZ and JUTIAPA.

ASEDE, eager to continue working with excluded and marginalised communities in rural areas in Guatemala, has produced a document that contributes to overcoming their problems, and pursues to aid participatory and advocacy processes to achieve real development in these communities.

The ultimate goal of the strategic plan is to support actions that seek solutions proposed by communities together with ASEDE to improve the living conditions of families, and to aid community development processes where the local organisation is the guarantor of implementation and management within the process of learning and co-growth.

VISION

ASEDE is an organisation specialising in development processes at municipal level, with an emphasis on community health care, support for members' educational attainment, strengthening safety processes and alternative production, with a focus on equity, equality, transparency, respect for interculturality and environmental protection.
