The Global South is a term that identifies countries with one side of the underlying global North-South divide, the other side being the countries of the Global North. Countries of the Global South have been described as newly industrialized or in the process of industrializing, and frequently have a history of colonialism by Northern, often European states.
In the struggle humankind will face against climate change, the Global South and its inhabitants run the risk of being the most impacted, despite having been the least responsible for the emerging climate crisis.
The 'Game on!' project realises the importance to look beyond frontiers and to hear those who we need to listen to the most.
Thus, speakers will be invited from Central American countries to share their own stories related to climate change and its environmental and societal impacts. These speakers will travel to multiple partner countries and will participate in public events to meet young people, Youth Ambassadors, and social media influencers, in order to present their different experiences about life in a changing climate and how they cope with it.
Moreover, these representatives from the Global South will appear in radio, TV and newspaper interviews, and contribute to the project's lobbying events.
This activity will be led the by German partner Christliche Initiative Romero (CIR).
