The international Peer Parliament brought together young activists from Slovakia, Romania, Latvia, Bulgaria and Hungary to discuss three key topics:
- sustainable transport,
- sustainable energy and
- sustainable consumption and ranked the proposed policies.
'Game On' Young Ambassadors agreed that in order to promote sustainable transportation Europe should be better interconnected by train including long-distance night trains and trains should be more affordable. For short-distance commuting cycling should be safer by developing safe clyclo parths.
To promote sustainable consumption, food producsts should be labelled with information about their impact on health, environment and climate and whether they are locally produced.
To speed up the transition to green energy incentives should make it cheaper and easier for people to install greener sources of energy in my home, such as solar panels and heat pumps.
The results from the Game On! Peer Parliament were submitted via the #EUClimatePact website to be collected in a final report that will be discussed with European policymakers and stakeholders as part of the Conference On The Future of Europe.
