GameOn was announced Best Practice Project at the WeltWeitWissen Kongress (WorldWideKnowledge Congress) in Halle, Germany.

From May 4th – 6th, our partner CIR represented the GameOn campaign at the WWW Congress on Climate Justice and Global Learning which took place in Halle in Eastern Germany, organized by the regional network for Sustainability Education (Eine Welt Sachsen).

Among other initiatives, GameOn was awarded “Best Practice Project” by the jury who considered GameOn successful in terms of transformative content, innovation, participation and empowerment, power sensitivity, inclusivity and freedom from discrimination, and model function.

The campaign was present in the form of an information booth within the educational market. It featured different material such as an informative poster about the campaign goals, the Terra Futura game (which was particularly popular), and some GameOn brochures on the existential and financial dimensions of the climate crisis. In addition, a quiz on pathways towards climate justice was laid out for visitors to participate.

Overall, the congress was an excellent opportunity to get in touch and discuss with other similar organizations and initiatives, from projects led by school students up to bigger institutions.
